Robot Scrap Handling System

A turnkey, fully automated, palletless scrap handling system for a multinational beverage can manufacturer.

The system palletises bales of scrap aluminium on to specially design skids. The robot builds the stack with gaps that facilitate lifting and transport by fork lift truck without the need for a pallet.

Completed bale stacks are transferred by pallet roller conveyors to a fully automated strapping machine. A roller turntable rotates the stack through 90° to facilitate strapping of the stack in two directions.

The stacks then pass over a weighing conveyor to the take-off point where they are removed by fork lift truck.
